Guest Blog: Customer review on fine knee high socks

You wouldn't want to walk barelegged in a field of chemicals brushing against your skin, so why wear clothing that's been made using harmful chemicals? Greenfibres sell a range of tights and socks that are free from harmful chemicals so you can wear them with the knowledge that no damage is being done to you or the environment.

Recently I tried a new product from the Greenfibres socks range and I am really pleased with the quality and style.

The fine knee high socks are long length to the knee and the knit is fine enough to give a cosy fit under high dress boots, but are equally suitable for wellies. Although I also find the more robust knit of Greenfibres Walking Socks a great match for wellies. These versatile socks can also be worn under trousers, or fashionably with a shorter skirt and even to bed on those cold winter nights.

The fine knee high socks are a blend of 70% sheep wool, 28% cotton and 2% elastane to keep them up to the knee. They can be machine-washed, but I have found that hand washing with Sonett’s olive washing liquid for wool and silk does prolong the life of woolen socks and only takes minutes.

These wool/cotton knee high socks are great value at £11.90 a pair and a great discovery. They are soft to touch and available in black and navy blue. The fine knee socks have a high wool content so they are perfect for keeping your tootsies toasty.

Should your old knit socks need mending try watching the Greenfibres darning video – a helpful and easy to follow video showing you how to make your socks live a long reusable life just when you thought they could no longer be worn!
